Franchise dealers sell vehicles at a profit. Because of their relationship with the dealers, the manufacturer requires the dealer to perform warranty repairs at a discounted labor rate when problems occur within the factory warranty period. Dealers make little or no money on parts and/or labor on these repairs.

Ever wondered why it is difficult to get warranty repairs performed at the dealer?

So often we hear from folks that get a new car to avoid problems, instead the problems just change.  One customer who owns a 2009 Cobalt has not been able to get an obvious warranty problem resolved at the selling dealership, but  instead recieved a list of  repairs that were not needed.  Her defect is still present and is now trying to get resolve through the GM customer service.  This situation is not unique to GM.  We have already performed work on this one that the dealer should have fixed under warranty. She wishes she kept her old one.

It is cheaper to repair the car you own than buy new.
